Welcome to Monteith’s Brewery.
This page provides general safety and visitor information for everyone attending Monteith’s, including guests dining in our restaurant or beer garden, and those joining a guided brewery tour or hosted experience. While Monteith’s is a low-risk hospitality venue, we ask all guests to take a moment to read the information below to help ensure a safe and enjoyable visit.
This information is general in nature and does not replace instructions provided by your host during your visit or experience.
ABOUT YOUR VISIT
Monteith’s is a working hospitality venue. Your visit may include one or more of the following:
Dining in our restaurant or beer garden
Visiting the bar and indoor/outdoor seating areas
A guided brewery tour experience (if booked)
Hosted tasting experiences (if booked)
Movement between indoor and outdoor areas
The venue is suitable for most visitors with a basic level of mobility.
POTENTIAL RISKS TO BE AWARE OF
Steps & Level Changes
Some areas of the brewery include steps and changes in level. A ramp is available for wheelchair access to key areas, including the Brewer’s Table. Guests may also choose to remain on the upper level if they prefer not to use steps. Please follow host instructions when moving through the space.
Beer Gardens & Surfaces
One of our beer garden areas includes steps and a pebbled surface, which can be uneven underfoot. Please take care when moving through this space. A second beer garden is fully step-free and available as an alternative.
Temperature
The brewery building can be cooler, particularly in winter months. A warm layer is recommended.
Slips & Trips
As with any hospitality venue, there is a small risk of slips or trips. Please wear appropriate footwear and take care when moving around.
Earthquakes
New Zealand is an earthquake-prone country. In the unlikely event of an earthquake while inside the venue, remain calm and follow the “Drop, Cover, Hold” procedure. Once shaking stops, follow instructions from our team and move to a safe area if directed.
ALCOHOL & RESPONSIBLE SERVICE
Alcohol is served as part of the Brewery Tour Experience.
All guests consuming alcohol must be 18+ years of age
Valid NZ accepted ID required:
New Zealand Driver Licence
HANZ 18+ Card
International Passport
International driver licences are not accepted
Alcohol must be consumed responsibly at all times
We reserve the right to refuse or stop alcohol service to any guest who appears intoxicated, in line with New Zealand host responsibility requirements
Non-alcoholic options are available throughout the day.

Venue, including brewery space, is wheelchair accessible
Ramp access available to key areas
Guests may remain on upper level if preferred
Accessible car parks available onsite
Seating available during tasting experience
Accessible toilet available onsite
Unisex toilets available
Baby changing facilities (including changing mat) available
Our team is available to assist with mobility requirements where possible
ALLERGENS & FOOD SAFETY
While we take care to provide accurate allergen information across our food and beverage offerings, it remains the guest’s responsibility to inform our team of any allergies or dietary requirements.
Please advise your host of any allergies before ordering or consuming food
For pre-booked group dining, advance notice of allergies is required
If you are unsure about ingredients, please ask a team member before ordering
HEALTH & SAFETY
Follow all instructions provided by your host
Advise our team members of any medical conditions or concerns
Take care when moving through the space
First aid trained team members are onsite at all times during operating hours
A defibrillator (AED) is accessible if required
We reserve the right to modify the experience or access areas for safety or operational reasons
Guests are responsible for their personal belongings during the experience
PARKING & TRANSPORT
Car Parking
There is ample on-site parking available, including accessible parks located close to the venue entrance. While the area is generally safe, vehicles are parked at owners’ risk. Please ensure vehicles are locked and valuables are not left visible.
Coach & Bus Parking
Dedicated coach and bus parking is available directly outside the main car park. We ask that large vehicles use this area for drop-off, pick-up.
EMERGENCY INFORMATION
In the unlikely event of an emergency:
Follow instructions from your host at all times
Emergency exits will be identified at the start of your experience
New Zealand emergency services: 111 (Police, Fire, Ambulance)
FIRE SAFETY
In the event of a fire:
Follow evacuation instructions from our team immediately
Move calmly to the nearest safe exit
Proceed to the designated assembly point
Do not attempt to collect personal belongings
WHAT TO BRING / WEAR
Comfortable walking shoes
A warm layer (recommended, especially in winter)
